The College is embarking on an exciting redevelopment of the Flinders Sports Precinct to deliver new, state-of-the-art facilities and provide an inspiring, modern and tech-rich environment for our students to unlock their physical, mental and academic potential.
This cutting-edge precinct will also provide transformative opportunities for our staff and the wider community, and enable Flinders to leverage the exciting potential presented by the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Your support for this space will enable our students to grow in confidence, capability and character, and deliver the College’s vision for excellence in learning and life.
Let’s build this future together. Strong Starts Here.
Strengthening the Future:
The Power of a Sports Precinct
Research confirms that regular participation in sport not only boosts health, it also improves academic performance. Physically active students consistently demonstrate sharper focus, stronger memory retention and enhanced classroom performance.
Of course, the benefits of sport go far beyond the classroom.
Sport is proving one of the most effective tools to boost mental health and build emotional resilience in young people, offering a proven antidote to stress and creating a buffer against life’s challenges.
Creating a redeveloped sports precinct at Flinders means creating a space where sport can teach what screens can’t—confidence, character and conviction. A space where young athletes learn to win with humility, lose with perspective and persist with purpose. And where each training session goes a step further to building discipline while every game helps to strengthen communication and teamwork.

Phase One:
Strength and Conditioning Centre
This first and signature phase delivers a cutting-edge Strength and Conditioning Centre as a high-performance training space to educate, inspire and physically develop students across all sporting disciplines.
From netball and rugby to swimming and volleyball, this facility will elevate every Flinders athlete, whether they’re training for elite competition or simply aiming to build a healthier, stronger self.
The Centre will offer tailored athletic programs, injury prevention protocols and wellness support to empower students with tools for physical growth and lifelong wellbeing.
It will also support educational pathways into health, sports science and human performance, featuring a Recovery Lab and modules in exercise science and physiology, providing a crucial bridge between high school learning and tertiary-level study.

Phase Two:
Indoor Sports Centre
In the second phase, the College will resurface the Sports Centre’s indoor courts with ProAction Thrust low profile timber flooring, providing an exceptional environment for our students who compete in SCISSA volleyball, basketball and netball competitions.
Flinders has a proud legacy of sporting excellence, nurturing athletes who rise to state, national and international levels. The upgraded Sports Centre reflects this standard, offering elite facilities for students to hone their skills and thrive in training.
